Epoch XI Beta Testing

Help Build the Future of Football.

Epoch XI is being built to simulate football from the inside out — players, Managers, tactics, match state and historical context interacting as one system. The beta is where that work meets real football fans for the first time.

If you want more than early access — if you want to help us understand what works, what breaks, what feels authentic and what needs to change — this is where you come in.

Beta access will roll out progressively. Joining the list does not guarantee immediate access.

What You're Joining

This isn't just about getting early access.

We're building a testing community that can help us evaluate Epoch XI as a football simulation: not only whether the software runs, but whether players behave believably, Managers leave a recognizable imprint, tactical decisions matter, and the experience makes football sense.

01

Play naturally

Explore the game as you normally would. Unexpected choices and unscripted play often reveal more than a perfect test plan.

02

Test deliberately

When we ask you to focus on a scenario, mechanic or behaviour, follow the instructions and help us isolate what actually happened.

03

Report clearly

Tell us what you observed, what you expected, and whether you can reproduce it. Useful feedback is more valuable than simply saying something felt wrong.

The Experience

Football history, brought into one shared simulation.

Epoch XI brings players and Managers from different eras into a persistent football world. Your club begins with a 30-player squad drawn from a historical pool of 5,600+ players and a Manager selected from 240+ historical Managers.

What We'll Be Testing

Realism lives in decisions, not just ratings.

The beta is about seeing whether historically informed identities emerge naturally from the simulation — and whether those identities still produce uncertainty, variation and believable failure.

Think about Rivellino's elastico.

He should not attempt his signature move every time the opportunity appears. He should use it when the situation feels right — and when he does, it may succeed or fail. That is the kind of realism Epoch XI is built around.

Player behaviour & individualityDo historically informed tendencies appear in believable contexts rather than as repetitive scripted tricks?
Manager influenceDoes the appointed Manager meaningfully shape structure, priorities and decision-making?
Tactical interactionDo roles, systems and match state create consequences that make football sense?
Data & historical authenticityDo the players, teams and football ideas feel true enough to invite scrutiny from knowledgeable fans?
How Access Works

Beta access will expand in waves.

We are not trying to maximize account volume on day one. Each stage should give us enough players to learn from without making useful feedback impossible to process.

Initial ValidationFounding tester cohort

A close feedback loop focused on onboarding, stability and the earliest structured validation.

Core BetaGrowing structured test group

Repeated play, targeted scenarios and deeper evaluation as more systems are opened up.

Expanded BetaBroader testing community

More hardware, football knowledge, play styles and first-time perspectives as testing widens.

Beta access expands progressively. Early cohorts are intentionally small so we can work closely with testers and act on feedback. They are the beginning of the testing program — not a cap on how many people we expect to involve as beta expands. Different stages need different perspectives, hardware, experience levels and areas of expertise, so being invited later does not mean someone is a weaker candidate.
Beta Onboarding

Joining the list is the beginning, not the whole process.

Discord is where beta testing is coordinated and where testers are selected. Join Discord and complete onboarding to enter the tester pool.

Step 1

Join the beta list

Submit your email so we know you're interested in beta testing.

Step 2

Join Discord

Join the community where beta testing is coordinated and tester selections are made.

Step 3

Complete onboarding

Complete onboarding to enter the tester pool and help us understand your setup and perspective.

Step 4

Watch for access

Testing instructions and access information will be communicated through the beta channels and email.

Important: Joining the email list is the first step. Beta testers are selected from the Discord community, so you'll need to join Discord and complete onboarding to be considered for testing.
Who We're Looking For

You don't need to be a developer. You do need to care enough to notice things.

Different testers bring different value. Some know football history. Some understand tactics and simulation systems. Some are excellent at reproducing technical problems. Others are valuable precisely because they are seeing Epoch XI with fresh eyes.

Historical authenticityPlayers, teams, eras, data and the details knowledgeable football fans will challenge.
Tactics & simulationStructures, roles, interactions and whether the consequences of decisions feel understandable.
Player behaviourIndividuality, signature tendencies, decision-making and whether famous players feel recognizably themselves.
UX & controlsWhat feels intuitive, what creates friction, and where the game fails to explain itself.
Performance & stabilityCrashes, slowdowns, hardware-specific problems and reproducible technical defects.
New-player experienceFresh eyes are important. If something only makes sense because we built it, we need to know.
Why This Beta Matters

The goal isn't to prove Epoch XI is finished. It's to learn what it needs before more people play it.

That means testers will see things change. Systems will be tuned, explanations rewritten, defects corrected and priorities reshaped by what we learn from real play.

Questions

Before you join.

Does signing up guarantee beta access?

No. Signing up records your interest. Testing invitations are issued progressively from the onboarded Discord tester pool based on capacity and the needs of each testing phase.

Do I need Discord?

Yes. Testers are selected from the onboarded Discord community. Join Discord and complete onboarding to enter the tester pool.

What kind of tester are you looking for?

There is no single ideal profile. Football knowledge, simulation curiosity, clear bug reporting, historical expertise, technical awareness and fresh eyes can all be useful at different stages.

What happens after I sign up?

You will be taken to the beta onboarding page, where you can join Discord and complete onboarding to enter the tester pool. Testing invitations are selected from that community as each wave opens.

Ready?

If you've read this far, you're probably the kind of person we want hearing from.
